- Check the Sun's east-northeast sightline from the exact location.
- Visit the site at the same time of day to identify buildings, trees and terrain.
- Keep a second location available in case cloud or access conditions change.
- Confirm public access and never stop on roads, private land or exposed terrain.
Solar viewing safety
The eclipse is partial throughout Greenland. Certified solar viewers must remain on for the entire event; there is no safe naked-eye phase.
Cameras, binoculars and telescopes need a purpose-built solar filter mounted securely over the front aperture.
